The Human Labeled Data (HLD) organization is dedicated to providing high-quality data annotation services to drive advancements in AI models. Our overarching vision is to create substantial business value by delivering superior data at scale. Our primary goal is to enhance the search experience for our customers by accurately assigning labels to products relevant to search queries. To achieve this, we work closely with various machine learning (ML) applied science teams dedicated to improving the quality of semantic matching, ranking, computer vision, image processing, and augmented reality.

Your responsibilities will encompass ensuring that your team consistently meets productivity and quality assurance standards, actively participating in planning, organizing, and supervising the work of your team, outlining procedures and instructions for tasks, providing time estimates for new assignments, optimizing team efficiency, and mentoring and training both new and existing team members. Key job responsibilities
- Lead a team of data specialists and linguists.
- Own and prioritize work assignments based on business requirements.
- Define relevant operational metrics aligned with our business objectives and establish processes for tracking and continually improving these metrics.
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders to achieve our business goals.
- Take ownership of the quality of the output of the managed process.
- Conduct in-depth data analysis, identify issues, determine root causes, and propose effective solutions.
- Review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), processes, and tools to proactively enhance quality measures.
- Initiate and lead process improvement initiatives, presenting solution proposals and implementing changes in relevant operational areas.
- Participate in onboarding for new processes, i.e. new process / experiments, ensuring comprehensive documentation.
- Develop robust launch plans for new team members and oversee their progress through the administration of these plans, turning intentions into actions.
- Provide regular coaching and feedback to your direct reports.
- Devise and implement performance improvement plans for team members.
- Be prepared to handle sensitive data, including adult content and topics related to religion and other sensitive issues, as required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of team management experience
- 2+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience leading process improvements
- Experience with data analysis and business case development, and managing programs from concept to implementation
- Experience in analysis of large volume of data to drive analysis and to make decisions
- Experience in managing global stakeholders
- Bachelor's or Master's in linguistics, computational linguistics, or other language-related fields.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Knowledge of data mining using SQL
- Experience in translating business needs into detailed feature requirements
- Experience in e-commerce/Hi-tech/Retail industry or management consulting with focus on one of these industries
- Proficient in French, German, Spanish, Italian, or Japanese language
- Working knowledge of Python scripting, Regex, Git
- Experience working in Machine learning and AI space
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills
- PhD in linguistics, computational linguistics, or other language-related fields.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $52,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $127,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
